Broadband for a small graphic company or the tale of an unhappy courier

Replacing ISDN with a broadband connection has helped a small graphic design company to liaise with its clients and freelancers quickly and efficiently and eliminate expensive couriers.

Scenario

A graphic design company needed to improve its workflow with clients and freelance designers. Graphic files are larger than most text files, and the ISDN connection did not allow the sending and receiving of these files.

The problem was translated into huge courier bills as the freelance designers sent their work back to the company on CDs by courier and the company also did the same by sending their clients designs for proofing and approval by courier.

Solution

Changing to broadband has changed the whole way the company works. The company now emails briefs and receives design work from their freelancers through their broadband connection. Most of their clients also have broadband and are happy to receive the design work for approval quickly online or uploaded for viewing on a secure web site.

The directors are delighted with now being able to do research online quickly for new ideas and campaigns.

Time has been saved, workflow improved and clients are happy with being able to provide quick feedback on their designs.

The only unhappy person is the courier!
